One of our business coaches at PT BIZ Jerred Moon has the following as one of the core beliefs of his company: “We believe strong people are more useful.” This statement was not meant to offend, it’s just a belief that is hard to counter argue. If one were to need to complete a physical task and the pool of volunteers were all equally intelligent, kind, resourceful, etc... one would choose the strongest of them to help you complete that task.
“Wow!” That is a powerful statement. A stronger you is a more useful you.
Strong people live longer and have a higher quality of life. They are able to function in physical tasks for longer and they tend to have lower body fat and less chronic disease. Everyone knows that muscle moves our body, however did you know that muscle is the body’s largest organ. It is a secretory organ that communicates with other organs through peptides known as myokines.
Because of this and other factors muscle is able to do all of the following plus more:

Muscle Helps regulate blood sugar levels
Muscle Improves cardiovascular health
Muscle improves circulation of blood and lymphatic fluid
Muscle Controls posture
Muscle Protects and moves joints
Muscle Boosts immune function,
Muscle Boosts brain function
Muscle Boosts survival in patients battling cancer
Muscle boosts your metabolism
Muscle reduces chronic inflammation
Muscle boosts mood and can fight depression and anxiety
Here is the most exciting part… Anyone, no matter what age, condition, or disease state (with very few exceptions) can improve muscle strength from where they are right now.
I challenge you to begin a strength training program and start reaping all the benefits that bigger stronger muscles can give you!!
If you are not comfortable beginning a strength training program on your own we are beta testing (at a discounted rate) small group training (4 clients max) and beginning private training packages at Hubert Physical Therapy.
If you want a Doctor of Physical Therapy to develop a strength program and work one on one with you, click this link and book a discovery call. We would love to talk to you about your goals.
Spend time with people you care about doing awesome stuff together!
